This report sets out a series of 10 key ideas which the Innovation Unit believes should for the underpinning principles around which health services are designed and delivered.

There is a page setting out each idea in detail, and ideas include: redefining health, helping people to help each other, taking self-management to the extreme, changing where health happens, easy in easy out, opening up consultations, making health pay, prescribing more than medicine, doctors can't do it all and getting digital.

Many of the ideas reflect the self-management ethos, such as understanding health to be more than the absence of illness.  They also incorporate some of its components, such as peer support (helping people to help each other), as well as a specific focus on self-management support.
