In this seven minute video, Diabetes Nurse Specialist Theresa O'Shea of the East London NHS Foundation Trust and patient Yvonne, explain how they use a combination of Florence ('Flo' - a telehealth system) and consultations via Skype to increase the quality of care and convenience.

Flo prompts the patient by text to send in their blood glucose readings, and makes them available to their health professional, as well as texting advice to the patient.  The health professional then uses Skype in place of a face-to-face consultation.  Theresa describes how well the combination of having the information available and the Skype consultation work from the perspective of the health professional.  She summarises research the team have undertaken showing that patients find this approach more convenient and feel more in control . Patient Yvonne talks about how the system has helped her to better manage her diabetes.
